About this placement


The main purpose of the role is to enable the company to develop an effective sales and marketing strategy, as marketing and online promotion is currently undertaken on a needs basis by the WiSS team.

 

Over the course of this 10 week placement you will focus on the development of the company’s current marketing strategy, putting in place a long-term plan and commencing work on its implementation through the following activities:

 

  • Promoting the business through social and business networking, both online and in person
  • Attending networking events on a regular basis e.g. BNI, Free2Network etc
  • Maintaining WiSS blogs, websites, and other online presence
  • Developing marketing materials
  • Contacting potential clients

 

Alongside this role you will also chase sales quotations, arrange appointments, produce reports and quotations and work with the Project Manager to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met.

 

From time to time the job may involve work outside normal hours – for instance to attend an event which may require an earlier start or later finish.

 

Essential Requirements :

 

  • Educated to degree level in Business/Management or similar
  • Excellent IT skills
  • In depth knowledge of social networking tools and the principles of search engine optimisation and ranking techniques
  • Professional manner
  • Ability to integrate with other team members with ease
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills
  • Organised and effective
  • Self-motivated and able to use initiative
  • An interest in web-based design, applications and solutions
  • Ability to communicate in both Welsh and English desirable but not essential

 

Expected Outcomes :

 

By the end of this placement you will have developed and implemented a sales and marketing strategy, allowing other staff to focus on their own areas of expertise. You will also begin to generate new interest and, potentially, new business within the 10 week period.

 

Depending on the success of this placement there is a strong possibility of a longer term role with WiSS.
