Fresh skills for Holbrook

Holbrook Timber Frame Ltd design, manufacture a range of high quality buildings including houses and commercial hotels.

Director Neil Smith wanted to concentrate on the business planning side of the company and recruited Rhys Garfield a Construction Management graduate through a GO Wales Work Placement. Rhys’ role as a Project Coordinator was to liaise with Contracts Management team to ensure the timber frame projects were completed on time and within budget.

Rhys project managed the timber frame structure from start to end for the building of a £5 million scheme for Stradform (a large client). He brought fresh skills and knowledge to the business to support the team in creating onsite programmes using Microsoft Project to show the breakdown of projects by tasks and deadlines.

90% of Holbrook’s clients base their opinions on what they see onsite; they judge on quality, service and delivery so Rhys has managed to keep customer satisfaction at a high level.

The company were so delighted with the outcome that they employed Rhys on a permanent basis and he is still there 18 months on.
