GO Wales

GO Wales Equality Statement

GO Wales welcomes participants from all sectors of the community. We are committed to adopting policies and procedures which will ensure that the users of our services and potential users of our services are treated equally regardless of age, disability, nationality, ethnic or national origin, , marital status, social background, sex, sexual orientation and/or belief or religion.

GO Wales will not discriminate unlawfully when selecting participants for our programme. We strive to work only with employers who have a fair and equitable approach to the recruitment, selection and training of staff.

Monitoring is an essential aspect of our equal opportunities policy, and we ask participants to provide monitoring information because this helps us to identify potential discrimination. Our project is partly funded by the European Social Fund which has equality as one of its cross cutting themes, and, therefore, we share monitoring information with the Welsh European Funding Office. This information is anonymised unless the participant gives us permission to share their personal details with the Welsh European Funding Office.

We encourage the employers we work with to adopt an equality and diversity strategy and monitoring system, if they do not already have one. We do this by signposting employers to appropriate sources of information and help. If they already have an equality and diversity strategy and monitoring system, we encourage them to consider improvements.

We are keen to support placements and training for graduates employed in small and medium sized enterprises in Wales which are directly relevant to bringing about improvements in equality and diversity strategies and monitoring systems.

We strive to make GO Wales participants aware of the importance of equality and provide information to them through our supporting materials and our training events such as our Graduate Academy and Freelancer programmes.
