The GO Wales Graduate Academy is a new 6-week training programme, designed to equip graduates living in Wales with key employability skills increasingly required by all employers.
Recent surveys of graduate employers confirm a growing demand for highly-skilled employees and increasing competition for jobs. Today’s employers are looking for real evidence of skills, abilities and understanding of the world of work, particularly leadership and communication skills underpinned by work place experience and accredited learning.
The Graduate Academy aims to provide recent graduates with skills and support to secure graduate employment. The programme focuses on the real and practical skills needed for success.
The programme will include a 2 week training course focusing on managerial skills needed for the work place and a 4 week period of work based experience which will be arranged to meet your individual needs and interests.
On completion you will obtain a leading recognised qualification accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
The first Graduate Academy programme starts on 6 July 2009. The 2-week training course will be held in Lampeter and the Work Place Experience can be undertaken anywhere in Wales (if you are in work, it can be undertaken with your current employer).
To participate you must be available to attend the 2-week full-time training course, as well as a 2-day conference at the end of the programme.
Subject to status and conditions a weekly training allowance is payable.
