Dulas Ltd is an award-winning renewable energy company that employs highly skilled and experienced consultants specialising in designing and installing a range of renewable energy technologies, including: wind, hydro, solar, and biomass wood energy.
Dulas took on graduate Steve Smith who studied Energy and Environmental Engineering at Napier University Edinburgh, to work on the development of Low Carbon Building consultancy processes for renewable energy technologies.
The objectives were to provide a service to architects and main contractors, within the building industry, to address new issues affecting the industry as a whole.
These Issues relate to regulations imposing the on-site generation of energy for new building developments. The consultancy services help developers, and other clients to understand which of the renewable energy micro generation technologies are suitable for their projects.
Ian Draisey Head of Marketing said:
“Steve immediately fitted into the company and had the skills that we required to develop new areas of business within new markets. The project has been extremely successful generating £20,000 of business for Dulas in the past 6 months.
“GO Wales is a great project to help smaller businesses as administrative burden is low, and that we are actively encouraged to employ high calibre graduates.”
Steve has since been employed by Dulas Ltd full time. Steve added:
“Taking part in a GO Wales work placement has allowed me to develop my knowledge of the renewables industry whilst developing my personal skills base. Working in a small organisation has been a valuable experience where there has been a great deal of team spirit and support.”
