Stephen Diamond (Multimedia, Computing Science)

Project objective

To re-develop parts of the student union web system being developed by BAM.

Project outcome

During the 10 week placement Stephen had the responsibility of updating an online ticket system. He managed to develop a range of skills throughout the experience and has been offered a longer term position with the company:

“Undertaking this project enabled me to gain an effective understanding of an e-commerce system, and also given me the opportunity to develop my problem solving technical skills whilst working alongside experienced professionals. Working in The BAM Agency has enabled me to make transitions into other areas. I feel The BAM Agency are investing in me and developing my skills to further my career.”

Lara Baldrian Human Resource Manager at BAM believes that Stephen has become an asset to the team:

“Steve really impressed us during his placement as we felt he possessed the skills, knowledge and drive to become a valuable, permanent member of the Web department; following his 10 week placement. We are currently developing Steve in other areas of the department due to his excellent communication skills and we hope he continues to excel and develop in his duties. GO Wales candidates like Steve have become major assets to The BAM Agency and we hope our excellent partnership with GO Wales continues.”
