Work tasters are an excellent way to gain some valuable experience in competitive industries. Torsten Bog graduated from the University of Glamorgan with a degree in Sound Technology he undertook two GO Wales work tasters to gain a working knowledge of the sound production industry.
Torsten not only broadened his knowledge of sound production he also made some vital industry contacts.
“My first taster was at the BBC Wales Music department where I was able to join Radio 3 at the Hay festival and Bath festival. I was given the opportunity to help setup the microphones for the recording. My second taster was at SoundWorks studios in Cardiff Bay, I was given the opportunity to sit in on voiceover sessions for S4C and BBC documentaries.
“The work experience gave me a fantastic insight in to the business and a valuable knowledge of the way a professional radio production or voice over session is undertaken. The highlight of my experience was when I did a 'Tarzan' voiceover at SoundWorks for a S4C children's cartoon!
