Richard Williams, Managing Director, had three work tasters via GO Wales, two of which he plans to take on as GO Wales placements.
“I have found the GO Wales Scheme to be of real value to our business in connecting us to the wealth of talent that is continually being nurtured through the excellent universities in Wales involved in film production.”
“The infrastructure set up by GO Wales to promote and market the scheme is first class, and offers SMEs like us an opportunity to receive applications from high calibre graduates throughout Wales that wish to continue to work and live in our great and forward thinking country once they have left University.”
“I did a GO Wales Taster at VIP Film Productions in Newport. I was involved in every aspect of film production, from writing the scripts to editing the final product. I found the variety of the job I was doing especially attractive, as it never got boring. I learned new programmes such as Storyboard Artist which lets you create storyboard on a Mac or Ultra which is used to substitute the green screen backgrounds we are working with, into virtual studios.”
“Understanding the needs of clients was especially new to me, as it was my first job after university, where you make films more for yourself. The taster gave me the chance to prove myself and I've now started a GO Wales Placement at the same company, and there is a good chance that I will stay on afterwards.”
