Sector Skills Council

What is a Sector Skills Council?

Sector Skills Councils are independent, employer-led organisations responsible for tackling the skills and productivity needs of their industry sectors UK-wide. They have been set up to decide how training is delivered and funded in the UK.

Sector Skills Councils also provide a wealth of information on current labour market trends in relevant areas. They help to source the best companies for graduate recruitment, where jobs may be located, which industries are generating the greatest investment and who offers the best continuing professional development opportunities.
